Welcome to the University Estates Department

I welcome you to Daystar University and to the Main Campus Athi River.

The University Estates Department is responsible for the management and maintenance of the University’s physical assets across the two campuses. The Department is committed to providing quality, efficient, and effective services that ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for learning, living, and university operations. Through proper stewardship of facilities and resources, the Department supports a well-maintained, student-friendly, and conducive campus environment.

Our Services and Facilities

  1. Accommodation: Oversight of student accommodation and residential services at the Main Campus for both male and female students, ensuring safe, clean, and conducive living conditions. Accommodation is only available at main campus.

  2. Cafeteria: Provision and coordination of meal services in all cafeterias on a pay-as-you-eat basis.

  3. Transport: Management of transport for day scholars, weekend student travel, and approved University activities.

  4. Cleaning: Promotion of a clean, safe, and well-managed campus environment through cleaning of designated areas and facilities.

  5. Facilities Management: Management and maintenance of University buildings, grounds, utilities, and infrastructure across the campuses.

  6. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Enforcement of occupational health, safety, and environmental standards in all estate operations.

Focus Area

The Department continues to support the University through facility maintenance and renovations, improvement of utilities and infrastructure, enhanced student and staff support services, better space utilization and campus planning, and continuous improvement of the campus environment.
